functionality of the diode laser

basic informations
laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis. targeted conversion of light into heat.
the melanin is the hair shaft acts as a so-called chromophore, which absorbs the laser radiation and is heated in the process. not only the hair shaft is heated but also the surrounding structures, especially the hair papilla, which are the actual target.
anagen phase
hair in the anagen phase can best absorb the energy and is most easily destroyed. the terminal hair (armpits, intimate area, lower legs) are each 30% in this ideal phase while the arms, legs are only about 15-20% in this phase at the same time.
treatment phases
differenz areas require different number of treatments. the intervals on the body are between 4-5 weeks, on the face 3-4 weeks, on the arms and legs 6-8 weeks.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

if redness may occurs, do not scratch it, perhaps cool it slightly with a cooling pad
the skin may react allergically to the light or ultrasonic gel
possible side effects or risks:
- erythema, blisters, crusting, scarring, mild sunburn
- edema around the hair shaft (peri follicular)
- pigment risk in people with skin type 3 (of asian ancestry)
- people with keloids
- people who frequently visit solariums

the best is reach the hair in the growth phase (anagen phase)
hair growth cycle repeats every 3-4 weeks
hair has 3 different growth phases and therefore does not grow synchronously
depending on the body region and due to the different growth phases different treatment intervals are to be considered

you have severe circulatory disorders or venous disorders
you take blood thinning medications; for example: aspirin, +100 mg/day

you have chronic health disorders for example: hemophilia, liver infection, AIDS, circulatory disorders
you had chemo-; radiation-; high dose cortisone-; immunodeficieny treatments in the last 6 months
you are depending on drugs and psychotropic drugs
there are silicone inserts and hyaluronic acid injections in the irradation region
your skin is treated with tanning shower or/and self-tanner products (waiver time 2-6 weeks before the laser treatment)
you have tendency to pigment shift or scarring
there are birthmarks, tattoos or permanent makeup in the treated area
in case of uncertainty a specialist recommandation is available

as a rule, you have no restrictions directly after the treatment
protect the exposed areas such as arms, legs, face for a week with sunscreen SPF 30-50
direct sunlight should be avoided
the hair will fall out after 1-3 weeks
do not pluck the hair
shaving is allowed betwenn treatments
if you find redness or edema please do not scratch these areas and cool them slightly with a cooling pad
irritations usually disappear completely after 2 hours to 2 days
avoid visiting the sauna or steam bath for the next 7-10 days and do not use any irritating skin cleansing products, e.g. peeling gloves
also avoid chemical or mechanical irritations of the treated areas within 1 week after treatment, e.g. injections or fillers
